Information for Staff & Faculty

Mentor Information

Mentors provide leadership and guidance to enable students to become effective partners in planning and implementing a campus sustainability project. Students work 6 hrs/week in fall and 10-12 hrs/week in winter and spring quarters. Staff/faculty are expected to participate in the following, which equals an estimated 6-10 hours for the entire year:

  •  Orientation training (Aug/Sept)

  •  Student presentations (spring quarter)

  •  Complete student evaluations (every quarter)

  •  Additionally, staff/faculty meet with students weekly to plan and track progress

Departments contribute $750 which the Sustainability Office matches to provide students a $1500 scholarship per year. Those facing special hardship can request financial assistance by emailing
