Prospective Students

Now Accepting Applications for 2017-2018!

Interested students from all majors are encouraged to apply, although the program is designed for those fulfilling senior exit requirements.

IDEASS students are trained to work in interdisciplinary team in professional settings to address technological, humanistic and societal aspects of environmental challenges in integrative ways. Students spend more time working in the community than they do in the classroom. Innovation, entrepreneurship and professional development are key aspects of this training. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are integral to our approach, but students from all majors are invited to apply. Applicants are not required to have prior coursework or technical training but should be willing to learn these fields.

Project Timeline

IDEASS requires a yearlong commitment that requires the student to enroll in Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarter in order to successfully design, implement, and evaluate their project.
