UCSC offers free US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (USGBC LEED) resources for all faculty, staff and students.

UCSC Physical Planning, Development & Operations (PPDO) works hard to design, build, operate and maintain sustainable buildings and facilities to the maximum extent possible. The Student Housing West (SHW) project aims to provide nearly 3,000 beds on campus. Its design offers a unique opportunity for campus innovation in green building on a larger scale, including plans for two wastewater treatment facility.
