Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI) Fellows Mehul Kamran and Sayuri Alwis are working on multiple projects across campus to reduce UCSC’s emissions. One of those projects is the promotion of the Million LED Challenge. Championed by the UC Office of the President’s CNI program, the Challenge is a way for students, staff, faculty, and alumni to easily reduce their carbon footprint while saving money. The Challenge provides energy efficient LED bulbs for a highly reduced price, allowing for people to make a difference in their homes while saving money on utility bills.
